how do i put my homepage up on cyber access?
.
.
after developing your web pages on your computer you will need to transfer them to your account at cyber access. to do this you need to use FTP (file transfer protocol).
  1. instruct your FTP program to connect to ftp.cybercom.net. after putting in your username and password you will be placed inside your file space at cyber access.

  2. use the make directory menu option to create a directory called public_html. it is necessary that you place your files within this public_html directory or you will not see them from your browser.

  3. transfer all your pages and graphics into the public_html directory that you've just created. use ascii format for html or text files. use binary format for all other files. if using a macintosh be sure to transfer the files as "raw data" and not mac binary. make sure that your main page (the first page) is called index.html

  4. after your pages are in place you should be able to access them at the URL http://www.cybercom.net/~username/

how do i use forms in my web page?
.
.
there is currently a public access form-handling script available for use at cyber access. it interprets the user's responses to your form elements and e-mails you a report. it is called MailForm.pl. to use MailForm, you first need to tell the server what to do with the form. you have to change the form action line in your html document to tell the server to mail the form contents to someone. change the form action line to look like this:

<form action="http://www.cybercom.net/cgi-bin/MailForm.pl" method="post">

you also have to tell the server who you want to mail the form report to, what the subject of the message is, and who it should look like its coming from. add the following three lines to your html code just below the form action line.

<input type="hidden" name="deliverto" value="recipients e-mail">
<input type="hidden" name="subject" value="message subject">
<input type="hidden" name="sendfrom" value="return address">

you may also wish to add the following line:

<input type="hidden" name="nextpage" value="next URL to go to after the form is submitted">
