(NOTE: Cashman and I were draftees that met in Houston the day we were inducted. Our service numbers were one apart. We stayed together in Basic Ft. Polk, AIT Ft. Sam Houston and then were assigned together in the medic platoon of the 2/13. When we got out we were neighbors in Houston and continued our friendship. I moved from Houston in '74 to take a job at a radio network in Washington, D.C., but we've stayed in close touch over the years.)
