Daniel Gene Owsley

October 9, 1946 - July 2, 1988

HAVRE - Daniel Gene Owsley, 41, a vocational education instructor, died of a heart attack Saturday at a Havre hospital. Memorial services will he 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the K.L. Mortuary in Twin Bridges. Cremation has taken place. Born at Bearmouth, Oct. 9, 1946, to Daniel Edward Owsley and Marion Michael Owsley, he attended school at Twin Bridges and graduated from high school at Helena in 1964. The Vietnam Army veteran married Carol Nolte Dec. 31, 1966 in Twin Bridges. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Armyin Vietnam,1965-1968. In 1972, he graduated from Northern Montana College with a bachelor's degree in vocationaltechnical education. In 1977, he earned his master's degree in vocat onal-technical education from NMC. He taught at West Yellowstone High School. From 1971-1972 he worked as a mechanic at G&B Toyota in Havre. From 1974-81, he worked as teacher at Missoula Hellgate High School The neat year, he taught at the Missoula Vocational-Technical Center. He then owned and operated C.D. Service in Twin Bridges. For the past year, he was an automotive electronics instructor at NMC. He was active in community affairs in Twin Bridges and Virginia City. He was a member of the Vet s of Foreign Wars and a past member of the Montana Education Association and Montana Vocational Association. Survivors include his wife, of Havre; children, Marilyn, Helen, and Daniel Owsley, all of Havre; his mother, of East Helena; a sister, Aileen Shaw of Cardwell; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 1976 and a nephew in 1986. Memorials may be sent to the Twin Bridges Quick Response Unit or Sheridan Amublance Service.
