The society is governed by The Board of Governors (BoG formerly ADCOM). Each year 5 of the 15 elected BoG member seats are open for election by the members at large. The BoG then elects a president and a 1st first vice president for operations and planning. The president then appoints other vice presidents and other officers and committee chairs.
The voting members of BoG consist of the 15 elected members plus certain ex officio officers appointed by the president. These appointed officers may or may not be elected but have an equal vote as the elected members on matters before the BoG. Current bylaws provide for the following ex officio positions being eliglible to vote: Vice Presidents, Immediate Past President, Current President (to break a tie vote).
