The only source of Thaumaturgical training in the Valley, the Academy teaches students and researches the ruins of the Ancients which are scattered throughout the Valley. The extensive museum attracts many visitors. Both the Children of the Flame and the River People frown on the mages' attempts to seek explanations for the holy powers their priests possess -- particularly the Children, as it was a mage who betrayed them to the Darkness.
